drive

The best way to make them change is to show their service isn't good enough. How do you avoid using the TTC?

i find myself driving more and willing to pay for the $6 parkings downtown just because it ends up costing the same as the ttc would there and back!

I've pretty much given up on the TTC since nearly every time I travel on it there is a problem with unexplained delays. You just never know it you can trust it. Even when it runs reliably it leaves much to be desired. So I drive. I am sure that many feel as I do that the costs of driving vs the TTC are more than made up for by the benefits of not being exposed to the uncertainty of getting to my destination on time, crowding, germs, filth, and rudeness of most of the TTC workers.

You can bash "drivers" all you want, sure we have to pay gas, but in the end at least we have an OPTION. We can decide whether we wanna drive or take "the better way". i've only had one accident in my 20 years of driving thank you very much. For you to assume everyone gets into an accident is pathetic.
And btw, are you suggesting that the TTC is infact the better way? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Rapid Transit

Postby 88fingers » Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:19 pm

My form of rapid transit is my Camaro. It takes me where I want & when I want. It is air-conditioned in the summer, and heated in the cooler months. In the winter I use my Honda CR-V, it may not be as rapid as the Z28, but it likes the winter slop a lot better.

We should all drive. The gridlock would be so much fun. That would really show them!

And then screw all those people taking transit to work who get stuck in your gridlock? Great idea.

I tried using the TTC again last week but had to wait 25 minutes for a streetcar, nothing was coming..went back and got my car from the
garage, still made it time..car is the way to go for me, its paid for and insurance isn;t that much on a 9 yr old car.

If given the choice, I would opt to drive despite all the costs and headaches involved.

I realize that there is traffic, the high cost of gas, insurance, parking, and maintenance plus having to contend with reckless and clueless cyclists and pedestrians.

But at least I get to my destination on time and in the comfort and privacy of my own car, listening to the music of my own choosing without having to worry about subway delays, hostile and insulting TTC personnel, inconsiderate and boorish TTC riders, etc.

The advantages of car ownership definitely outweighs using the TTC and is well worth the price.
